Zodiac Class Ocean ISAF 6 person
Another recommended 6 person raft only available in a hard container. This is a self-righting (upon inflation) raft that has the inflatable boarding platform Practical Sailor loves. This raft is no longer in production.

 

Winslow Ocean Rescue
The third of our reviewed rafts, the Ocean Rescue is available in 4, 6 or 8 person capacities. Inflatable boarding platforms are an option for this raft.

The newest of our reviewed offerings, the MD-3 is a 6 person life raft available in either a hard container or a soft valise.

Practical Sailor suggested that the best raft would be a SOLAS grade product that was packed with less equipment and possibly in a soft valise. Switlik offers such a raft in both a 6 and 10 person capacity. Although these rafts were not tested by Practical Sailor we feel that they are a great option.

Switlik CLR-6
This is Switlik's six person USCG/SOLAS raft with a smaller equipment pack, no second set of storm doors, and where the inflatable floor becomes an option. It can be packed in a hard container or a soft valise.

Here Switlik has taken their 10 person USCG/SOLAS raft, reduced the equipment and packed the raft in a low profile fiberglass container. With this raft the inflatable floor becomes an option.
