EPIRB & SART SERVICE

Due to changes by the Federal Government in January 2008, older generation EPIRBS are now considered Dangerous Goods for transportation which makes them very difficult for the average individual to ship. If you are not located in the Tacoma, WA area you are best served by purchasing a new EPIRB.

Batteries are not available for most of the first generation 406 EPIRBS including: ACR RLB-23, Koden 948, Litton 948, McMurdo, Graesby, Avmar, Furuno, and Lokata. Effective 1/1/08 existing EPIRBS will be considered Dangerous Goods (hazardous material) for shipment. DO NOT ship any EPIRB to us after 12/31/2007. We will be forced to turn the shipment over to the Department of Transportation for action (fines).
