Westpac Marine specializes in life safety equipment. While our primary focus is on the marine market, many of the items we supply are used in shore based applications. We were founded in 1984 and have been a distributor for companies such as Mine Safety Appliances and Switlik for most of the time we have been in business. You can rely on our expertise and the fact that if we do not know the answer, we will tell you so.

Where are life rafts manufactured?
Swtilik and Winslow rafts are manufactured in the United States. Zodiac comes from France while Avon's are made in Hungary. The hulls of Elliot/Crewsaver rafts come from China as do those in Revere yachting life rafts. Most Viking's are manufactured in Thailand.

Do you really need a life raft?
Check out our page on hypothermia and calculate what the survival time is in your area. The results might surprise you.

MOM-8 and MOM-9 Servicing:
MOM-8 or MOM-9 units that contain no additional equipment such as flares may be shipped by ground within the United States without having to declare them as hazardous material. Our page on MOM servicing has further information.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Westpac is located in downtown Tacoma, WA, just a couple of minutes from the freeway. The closest moorage is at the Dock Street Marina which also provides easy access to the museums and sights of Tacoma.
